Preparations Underway For Dickinson Co. Fair

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Here’s a sign summer is starting to wane.

The Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair gets underway this coming Sunday, August 1st and continues through Thursday, August 5th in Spirit Lake.

Cory Petersen of the I-S-U Extension Service tells KUOO news preparations get underway at 8:00 a.m. this Thursday, July 29th when several 4-H clubs will start cleaning up the buildings and grounds and get things set up.

Petersen reminds 4-H and FFA members that they must wear their appropriate 4-H and FFA shirts whenever they’re at the fair this year.

Those with livestock exhibits must have their drug affidavits.

Judging for open class exhibits will be this coming Saturday, July 31st. The open class division is open to all Dickinson county residents. Categories include photography, painting, woodworking, breads, pies, cookies, jams, jellies, crafts, arts and gardening…to name just a few. Books and more information on open class exhibiting are available at the Dickinson County Extension Office.
