(Spencer)– Some of Spencer Municipal Utilitie’s electric customers were without power for a brief period Thursday evening.
SMU Information Director Curtis Dean says the outage was first reported around 8:45 p.m. He says SMU crews quickly determined the outage was caused by a mechanical failure at the Center Substation. Dean says crews isolated the problem and power was restored to all areas by 9:45 p.m.
Dean says the outage affected about a third of SMU’s electric customers.
