(Emmetsburg)– Construction of a new biomass storage facility at the Project Liberty site near Emmetsburg is gaining the attention of state officials.
Representatives of the Iowa Power Fund, which awarded funding for the project, will tour the site this coming Wednesday (Oct. 13th) at 9:30 a.m.
The tour is being held in conjunction with the Power Fund board’s meeting at Wild Rose Resort in Emmetsburg.
Project Liberty is part of POET Energy’s planned 25-million-gallon-per-year cullulosic ethanol plant, which will use corn cobs and light stover as feedstock for ethanol production.
POET officials and Project Liberty staff are also scheduled to be on hand for Wednesday’s event.
