Poll Shows Most Clay Co. Residents Opposed To Gaming Proposal

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A gaming proposal that’s on the ballot next month in Clay county is facing mounting opposition.

The Clay County Gaming Initiative, a pro-gaming group, has released the results of a poll it commissioned to measure support for the proposal.

The poll was conducted by Robinson, Muenster and Associates of Sioux Falls. Of the 302 likely voters polled, 52.3 percent were against the initiative; 29.8 percent were in favor and 13.2 percent were undecided.

Harry Rasdahl of the Clay County Gaming Initiative says the group was surprised and disappointed by the results. He says they’ll be holding a forum Monday, November 24th at the Spencer Convention Center.
