(Spirit Lake)– Planning for a major expansion at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital is kicking into high gear.
Hospital CEO Rich Kielman tells KUOO news committees are being established to give input to the architect on the project. Kielman says it’s important to get the planning done now so they’ll be ready for a bidletting late this winter or early spring.
As we reported earlier plans call for two expansions: one to the east and one to the southwest of the present facility. The one on the east will consist of 18 single occupancy rooms. The existing medical/surgical unit will also be remodeled to single occupancy rooms. The expansion to the southwest will house the hospital’s outpatient services.
The project has an estimated cost of 6.45 million dollars.
