(Des Moines)– Planned Parenthood is asking the Iowa Supreme Court to overrule a district court judge who ordered pregnancy tests be turned over to investigators.
The organization Friday filed a motion for an emergency temporary stay. They’ve also filed an appeal asking the Supreme Court to overturn the order.
District Judge Frank Nelson ordered the records be turned over on August 17th.
Investigators say they may provide evidence as to the mother of a dead baby that was found in May at a Storm Lake recycling center.
Jill June, Director of Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa, says the records can’t be turned over without patient consent.
