Plane Pilot Killed In Crash At Jackson Airport

(Jackson, Mn.)– The pilot of a single-engine aircraft was killed today (Mon.) in a crash at the Jackson airport.

Authorities aren’t releasing the name of the pilot, who was alone in the plane.

Emergency response crews along with the Jackson Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene around 7:20 a.m.

The crash was discovered by a passerby who reported seeing a plume of dust and smoke.

Authorities aren’t releasing much other information…only that the plane crashed at the east end of the sod runway at the Jackson aiport, which is located on the northeast edge of town.

Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
