(Spencer)– Clay county authorities say they arrested seven underage people early Saturday for various alcohol and driving-related charges.
Authorities say the arrests stem from a complaint the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received about a party involving underaged drinking and narcotics use.
Authorities say they were called to the Ken and Veronica Kabrick residence on the west edge of Langdon, where they encountered numerous vehicles leaving. Traffic stops resulted in the arrests of two people for operating while intoxicated and five people for possession of alcohol under the legal age.
19-year-old Veronica Newbrough of Lake Park and 20-year-old Kelly Wurm of Spencer were both charged with operating while intoxicated. Newbrough was charged with first offense and Wurm with second offense. Both were booked into the Clay county jail. A 17-year-old male juvenile who was a passenger in the Wurm vehicle was arrested for possession of alcohol under the legal age. He was taken to the Clay county jail, processed, and released to a relative.
19-year-old Brady Wee of Fostoria, 19-year-old John Ingledue of Spencer and two 17-year-old females were charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age. Deputies found the four in a vehicle getting ready to leave the Kabrick residence. Wee and Ingledue were issued citations and released; the two juveniles were transported to the Clay county jail to be charged and released to parents.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says their investigation continues and more arrests are possible.
