Palo Alto County SILO Election

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– Voters in Palo Alto county head to the polls Tuesday (03/09) to vote on a School Infrastructure Local Option Sales tax measure.

If approved, the one-cent sales tax would go in effect this coming July 1st and continue for 10 years.

Emmetsburg Superintendent Paul Tedesco says the money can be used for infrastructure needs or for property tax reduction.

Tedesco says Palo Alto county schools are at a disadvantage as neighboring counties have already adopted a SILO tax.

Polls will be open Tuesday (03/09) from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
