Palo Alto County Rollover Results In Serious Injuries

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– A single-vehicle rollover Thursday in Palo Alto sent two people to the hospital.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says 14-year-old Michael Myers of Emmetsburg was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer northbound on a county road when he lost control. The vehicle fishtailed and went into the east ditch where it rolled several times before coming to rest on its top.

Myers and a passenger, 15-year-old Nicholas Leuer of Emmetsburg, were transported by ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg. Myers was later airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation and that charges are pending.

It took place shortly before 4:00 p.m.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Palo Alto County Ambulance crew.
