(Emmetsburg)– If you get a phone call from someone soliciting money to support efforts in the fight against methamphetamine, you should ask some questions.
Palo Alto County Sheriff Russell Jergens says his office has been getting inquiries from people who have received such calls recently. He’s urging anyone who gets such a call to verify if the caller is genuine and not a scam artist before agreeing to a contribution.
Jergens says the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office does not support phone solicitations because of false claims. He adds the Sheriff’s Office and Drug Task Force are not in partnership with any phone solicitation company.
Anyone with questions or wanting additional information should contact the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office.
