November 23, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– The schedule of productions for the upcoming 46th season of the Okoboji Summer Theatre was unveiled Saturday as part of the University of Okoboji Iowa Great Lakes Winter Games.

The season starts June 17th through the 21st with “Moon Over Buffalo”, a comedy. “Jakes Women”, a Neal Simon play, takes the stage June 24th through the 29th; the first musical of the season will be “Do Black Patent Shoes Really Reflect Up?” July 1st through the 6th. The fourth production of the season will be “Perfect Wedding” July 8th through the 13th. “Belles On Their Toes”, a sequel to “Cheaper By The Dozen”, will be performed July 15th through the 20th. “You Know I Can’t Hear When The Water’s Running” takes the stage July 22nd through July 27th; “The Royal Family” will be performed July 29th through August 3rd; “Saving Grace” will be featured August 5th through the 10th; and the season concludes with the musical “Bye-Bye Birdie” August 12th through the 17th.

Rick Wiersma, co-President of the Okoboji Summer Theatre Association, says ticket prices will increase to 14-dollars for musicals and to 12-dollars for non-musicals.

Wiersma added the theatre is working for non-profit status, so it would be able to accept tax deductible contributions.

Wiersma says there will be a change in the voucher system this year. He says they will now be numbered, with each voucher being good for a specific show.
