(Sibley)– A two-vehicle collision Sunday evening at the junction of Highways nine and 59 in Osceola county has claimed the life of a Webster City resident.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Vannakhone Vongkham of Webster City was driving a 1990 Accura northbound on Highway 59 and failed to stop for a stop sign. Authorities say Vongkham collided with a 2001 Dodge truck driven by 28-year-old Craig Wynia of Rock Rapids who was eastbound on Highway Nine.
Vongkham was pronounced dead at the scene; Wynia was taken by ambulance to Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley where he was held overnight for observation.
The mishap took place around 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
