(Okoboji)– An Okoboji man is one of three Iowa adventurers being featured on an Iowa Public Television program.
David Thoreson says a sailing expedition to the Antarctic he participated in, along with a trip to the arctic in the early 1990’s, is being featured on the latest edition of Iowa Public Television’s “Living In Iowa” program.
Thoreson, who’s also a photographer, says his expedition to Antarctica in 1991 and 1992 was by far the most challenging he’s ever been involved in. For 72 hours he says he and his crew had to battle 80 mile-per-hour winds, extremely cold temperatures and ice. Their route went from Cape Horn, South Africa to Brazil, then to the Antarctic Circle.
The “Living In Iowa” program featuring Thoreson airs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 p.m. Friday.
