(Emmetsburg)– A drug bust at an Emmetsburg motel has landed an Okoboji man in jail on numerous charges.
On Sunday, management at the Suburban Motel contacted Emmetsburg police to report the discovery of suspicious items in one of the rooms. The caller reported the items were found by a cleaning crew.
Police quickly secured the room and applied for a search warrant.
A search of the room resulted in the seizure of over 30 pounds of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana; a small quantity of psychedelic mushrooms; and numerous items related to drug use.
The occupant of the room, 25-year-old Jess Zeutenhorst of Okoboji, was arrested and taken into custody. Zeutenhorst was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver…a class “D” felony; a drug tax-stamp violation…a class “D” felony; along with misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana; possession of psilocyben mushrooms and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Zeutenhorst is being held in the Palo Alto county jail on bond of 23,400-dollars.
The Palo Alto County Attorney’s Office assisted in the search warrant.
