(Okoboji)– Charges have been filed against an Okoboji man in connection with a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening that sent a Spirit Lake couple to the hospital.
The Okoboji Police Department says 19-year-old Rebecca Bruns of Spirit Lake was southbound on Lakeshore Drive when she was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Michael Wood of Okoboji.
Two passengers in the vehicle Bruns was driving, 48-year-old Sheryl Bruns and 54-year-old Terry Bruns of Spirit Lake, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. No other injuries were reported.
Wood was charged with operating while intoxicated, failure to provide insurance, driving while suspended, failure to maintain control, failure to have a valid driver’s license and following too closely. He was placed under arrest and was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Four thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2000 GMC Envoy driven by Bruns and to a 1992 Mazda pickup driven by Wood.
The crash took place shortly after 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
