(Okoboji)– Okoboji is the second Dickinson county municipality to adopt a resolution opposing corporate style hog lots.
The city council unanimously adopted the ordinance Tuesday.
Councilman David Thoreson was a primary backer of the resolution. He hopes it sends a strong message to lawmakers for local control. Thoreson says by no means does the resolution infer that the city is opposed to family farms.
The resolution is similar to one adopted by the city of Spirit Lake.
