Okoboji Council Accepts Resignation Of Long-Time Police Chief; Appoints Interim Chief

November 22, 2014

(Okoboji)—The long-time Police Chief in Okoboji has stepped down.

The city council last (Tues.) evening voted to accept the resignation of Dave Jacobson from the position, effective immediately.

City officials have declined to comment on the reason for Jacobson’s stepping down from a position he held with the city for some 31 years. He worked for the city’s police force a total of some 34 years.

The council discussed various possible options, including the possibility of some sort of joint arrangement with either the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and or the Spirit Lake and Arnolds Park Police Departments, but no action has been taken.

The council last (Tues.) evening approved the appointment of officer Jason Peterson as Interim Chief.
