(Milford)– Kaela Prachar and Josiah Bartlett of the Okoboji/Spirit Lake High School Debate Team made through elimination rounds debating some of the best teams in the nation to advance to the octa-final round to earn each of them tehir second tournament of champions bid of the season.
Conner Ave and Maggie Rohlk made it to the bump round before losing to one of the top teams in the nation from University School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Jack Ave made it to the bump round before being knocked from the tournament by a debater from a high school in New York.
OSL students Jordan Hanson, Katie Johnson, Dallas Clark and Margaret Delaney participated in Congressional Debate but didn’t advance out of preliminary competition.
OSL will next compete at the Spencer Tiger invitational November 19th and 20th.
