(Milford)– The Okoboji Community School National Forensic League Chapter was notified today (Thurs.) that it has been awarded the “Leading Chapter Award” for the West Iowa NFL District, which includes Iowa schools west of Interstate 35 and all the Des Moines schools.
The coveted award, based upon student participation, is the highest honor the NFL can bestow upon a chapter. Only one school in each district attains the honor yearly. Out of over 2,700 NFL member schools nationwide, Okoboji is one of only 103 to receive the “Leading Chapter Award”.
Okoboji became a charter member of the NFL in 1992. The NFL hosts a national tournament yearly and Okoboji has participated in nine national tournaments over the past 11 years.
Okoboji will be awarded the leading chapter plaque at the NFL district tournament in February.
