(Sibley)– Police say a student trying to board a Sibley-Ocheyedan school bus suffered minor injuries when a teenager hit the bus with the car she was driving.
17-year-old McKenzie Rehborg of Ocheyedan rearended the bus Friday morning. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says Rehborg told authorities that the sun blocked her vision.
Emergency personnel had to extricate Rehborg from her vehicle, and she was transported to a Sibley hospital. Hospital officials said over the weekend that she wasn’t being treated there.
Two students were walking in front of the bus at the time of the collision, preparing to board it. Sheriff’s officials say the bus moved forward during the collision and hit one of the students, causing a minor injury.
There were 22 passengers on the bus, none of them were seriously injured.
