(Sibley)– An Ocheyedan man has pled guilty to a stalking charge…a class “D” felony.
37-year-old Troy Harris was ordered to pay a fine of 1,313-dollars plus restitution. He was sentenced to the custody of the Director of the Iowa Department of Corrections for a term not to exceed five years. The jail time was suspended and Harris was placed on formal probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections for two years.
He was also ordered to successfully complete a program at a residential treatment facility operated by the Iowa Department of Corrections; and was ordered to enroll in a substance abuse treatment program.
Harris was also ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
Harris was accused of sending threatening text messages to a female victim who had a no-contact order in place against Harris.
