O’Brien County Authorities Investigate Death Of Moneta Man

November 23, 2014

(Primghar)– An investigation is underway into the death of a Moneta man.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says the body of 54-year-old Wendell Shouse was found Thursday near a four-wheeler in a creek bed about a half mile northwest of Moneta. An autopsy is being performed.

Authorities say Shouse and a four-wheeler he owned had been reported missing since August 5th. A search was conducted Thursday…shortly after the man’s disappearance was reported to authorities…but nothing was turned up. The search resumed at 7:00 a.m. Friday with the assistance of an Iowa State Patrol plane. The four-wheeler was located from the air by an O’Brien county deputy and the Iowa State Patrol pilot. Deputies on the ground were directed to the site where they recovered the A-T-V and Shouse…who was pronounced dead at the scene.
