O’Brien Co. Crash Claims Orange City Teen

November 22, 2014

(Primghar)– A one-vehicle crash in O’Brien county over the weekend claimed the life of an Orange City teen.

The Sheriff’s Office says 15-year-old Christopher Koehlmoos was westbound on 470th Street about two and-a-half miles west of Paullina when he lost control of a 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The vehicle left the road, went into the north ditch and struck a utility pole.

Koehlmoos was taken to the Orange City hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The mishap took place around 10:00 p.m. Saturday.

It remains under investigation by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
