O’Brien Co. Collision Injures Two People

November 22, 2014

(Primghar)– A two-vehicle collision south of Hartley last week injured two people.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says vehicles driven by 20-year-old Lana Hofman of Sanborn and 50-year-old Deborah Rohrbaugh of Hartley collided at the intersection of County Roads M-12 and B-24 four miles south of Hartley.

Authorities say Rohrbaugh was southbound and Hofman was westbound when Hofman stopped for a stop sign and pulled into the path of the vehicle driven by Rohrbaugh.

Rohrbaugh was taken by ambulance to the Primghar hospital and was later transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital. Hofman was taken by ambulance to the Primghar hospital and was transferred to Mercy Hospital in Sioux City. There was no word on the extent of their injuries or conditions.

A 1999 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Hofman and a 1996 Ford Taurus driven by Rohrbaugh were totalled.

Authorities say the mishap remains under investigation.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Iowa State Patrol and Hartley Fire and Rescue.
