O’Brien Co. Authorities File Drug Charges Against Algona Man

November 23, 2014

(Hartley)– Drug charges have been filed against a former Sheldon resident.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says Troy Andrew Johnson, who now lives in Algona, was arrested earlier this month on warrants of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say Johnson was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped for a traffic violation east of Hartley on Highway 18. Officers discovered Johnson was wanted on warrants. A search of Johnson allegedly turned up controlled substances later identified as methamphetamine. That resulted in an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Johnson was booked into the O’Brien county jail. He has since been released on bond of 5,850-dollars.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hartley Police Department.
