(Spencer)– The board of trustees of the Northwest Regional Airport in Spencer Monday approved plans and specifications for a hangar to house an aircraft maintenance company.
Brian Bright of CAMM Air, which stands for Corporate Aircraft Mobile Maintenance, says the company started off as just him travelling around with a pickup to maintain aircraft. He says it’s since grown to the point to where they need a home base.
The 10-thousand square foot hangar will be constructed immediately east of the existing ramp at the airport. The facility will be able to house up to four large corporate aircraft at one time with office and shop spaces. Bright says he was able to draw from his years of experience to come up with what he feels is needed in what he says will be a state-of-the-art facility.
Bright says they’re hoping to break ground on the project this week. He says the building is on order and is scheduled for delivery June 1st. Bright says work on the interior of the building will get underway immediately after that.
CAMM Air currently has three employees. Bright says he hopes to eventually increase that to five full-time workers.
