(Estherville)– Charges have been filed against an Estherville man in connection with an incident Monday evening.
Estherville police say they were called to a residence around 6:00 p.m. and encountered a man armed with a knife. Authorities say the subject was involved in a domestic dispute. They were able to eventually subdue and arrest the man without injury.
Following an investigation, Estherville Police Chief Eric Milburn says they’ve charged 31-year-old Chad James Kollasch of Estherville with numerous felony and misdemeanor charges. The include attempted murder, a class “B” felony; burglary in the first degree, a class “B” felony; kidnapping in the second degree, a class “B” felony; violation of a no-contact order, a simple misdemeanor; and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
Kollasch was taken into custody and was transferred to a state facility where he’s being held pending an appearance before a magistrate.
