Northey mulls bid for Ag Secretary

Bill Northey of rural Spirit Lake is considering a run for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture. Northey, a Republican, is active in many farm organizations and recently served as President of the National Corngrowers Association.
He hopes to make a decision by fall and is currently “testing the waters”.
Northey says the state of Iowa should be an active partner with the agriculture industry in promoting Iowa grown products and finding alternative uses for Iowa products.
