Nomination Petitions Available For NW Aging Association Board

November 23, 2014

(Spencer)– Nomination petitions are now available for four of nine seats up for election on the board of directors of the Northwest Aging Association.

Persons over 21 years of age or older interested in representing and campaigning for the open seats in Clay, O’Brien, Dickinson and Lyon counties must obtain a nomination petition from the Northwest Aging Association and return it by April 21st, 2010. Nominees must reside in the county they represent. Public elections will be held in May.

Each member on the corporation’s board of directors represents the age 60 and over population for their speficic county. For that reason, officials say they should have an understanding of, or interests in, the problems and concerns facing the county’s older population.

Each board member serves a two-year term. The board of directors meets monthly to oversee administration of the Northwest Aging Association, a private, non-profit corporation.

Nomination petitions are available at the Northwest Aging Association office at 714 10th Avenue East in Spencer or by calling 1-800-242-5033.
