(Worthington, Mn.)– Nobles county commissioners have approved a three-year conditional use permit allowing an Iowa man to keep dogs that are part wolf in Ransom Township.
The kennel containing hybrid dogs was approved for Raymond Braun of George, Iowa. The animals must be kept in a heavy duty dog kennel with six-foot-high chain link fencing. The kennel also must have reinforced flooring, an enclosed roof and an exercise area with electric fences.
And the owners must have one million dollars in liability insurance on the business.
A licensed veterinarian must inspect the animals on site and report to county officials each year.
The county says anyone buying a hybrid dog must have an exotic animal permit from Nobles county.
