No Injuries Reported In Spencer Trailer Fire

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– No one was injured in a trailer fire in Spencer late Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Birchwood Estates Trailer Park on First Avenue East around 5:15 p.m. Upon arriving they found the inside of the trailer, on lot 15, full of heavy smoke. Flames were discovered on the outside of the trailer, just under the bathroom. The fire was quickly knocked out.

The owner of the trailer, Charlie Clifton, wasn’t home at the time the fire started.

There are no damage estimates at this time, but Fire Chief Doug Duncan says the outside of the trailer sustained minor fire damage, and the inside sustained some smoke damage as well.

Duncan says the fire was the result of an electrical short.

Spencer firefighters were on the scene about an hour.
