(Arnolds Park)– No injuries were reported in a vehicle fire Saturday night in Arnolds Park.
Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire Chief Chris Youngbluth says firefighters were called to the parking lot across from Fillenwarth’s Beach main office around 10:45 p.m. Upon arriving Youngbluth says firefighters found the engine compartment of a Jeep Cherokee fully engulfed. He says the blaze was starting to spread into the passenger compartment.
Youngbluth says the driver noticed smoke, pulled into the parking lot and got out of the vehicle uninjurred.
The vehicle was a total loss.
Youngbluth says the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
He adds firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to another vehicle that was parked next to it.
Arnolds Park/Okoboji firefighters were on the scene about 45 minutes.
