(Spirit Lake)– There’s a new snag in efforts to get a National Weather Service radio transmitter on the air in Dickinson county.
Tim Kinnetz, Dickinson county 911 and Emergency Services Coordinator, says the transmitter’s antenna still needs to be installed on a tower west of Milford. He says the state had previously awarded a contract to do the work, but it was rescinded after the state learned the crew did not have proper insurance. Kinnetz says a new bidding package is being put together that will be submitted to the state. There’s no word on how long it might take to get a new bid awarded.
Kinnetz is still hoping to have the transmitter on the air by the end of this winter.
