(Sioux City)– A Plymouth county man has been appointed as a new District Judge for the Third Judicial District which includes 16 counties in northwest Iowa.
Leesa McNeil, Court Administrator for the Third Judicial District, says Jeffrey A. Neary of Merrill will be sworn in this Friday in a ceremony at the Plymouth County Courthouse.
McNeil says Neary will have jurisdiction throughout the 16-county area, but will hear most of his cases in Plymouth, Sioux, Woodbury, Crawford, Ida and Monona counties.
Neary will fill the seat vacated by the retirement of District Judge Richard Vipond.
