(Estherville)– The next installment in the Estherville Performing Arts Series at Iowa Lakes Community College is bringing in a nationally recognized professional musician who also happens to be a native of Iowa.
Shawn Johnson, who’s also an Emmy Award-winning performer, will be in Estherville Thursday, October 1st. Johnson will lead a clinic with the ELC High School Concert Choir that morning and will work with the Jazz Choir later that afternoon.
Johnson, also a longtime frontman for Tonic Sol-fa, will then return to Estherville October 25th to perform “Shaun Sings Country-90’s Edition, also as part of the Estherville Performing Arts Series. The show celebrate the artists and songs that defined 1990’s country music.
Funding for Johnson’s visits was provided by the ELC Patrons of the Fine Arts Cultural Enrichment Grant. Organizers of the Estherville Performing Arts Series say Johnson’s visit highlights a broader impact to bringing performing arts and cultural opportunities to the region.
