(Arnolds Park)– The 4th of July weekend has already proved deadly in Dickinson county.
Arnolds Park police say two Milford people were killed in a motorcycle accident when the driver lost control.
34-year-old Jon. A. Danbom–better known as “Alex”–was driving southbound on Highway 71 around 12:25 this (Fri.) morning when he lost control. He and his passenger, 27-year-old Julie J. Wollesen of Milford were thrown from the motorcycle and hit a pickup truck operated by 46-year-old Blake Wolfswinkel of Ontario, Canada who was waiting to turn at the Highway 71 intersection with Dewey Street.
Danbom and Wollesen were pronounced dead at the scene.
Arnolds Park police were assisted at the scene by the Okoboji and Milford police departments, the Iowa State Patrol and the Arnolds Park/Okoboji Fire and Rescue Department.
