(Emmetsburg)– A motorcycle crash Saturday in Palo Alto county seriously injured an Emmetsburg woman.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says Connie Overberg was driving a 2005 Honda westbound on a county road. Deputies say she encountered a strong gust of wind as she passed the rear of an oncoming vehicle. The motorcycle traveled onto the gravel shoulder and started to skid.
Overberg was thrown from the motorcycle into the north ditch. The motorcycle came to rest on the north shoulder.
Overberg was taken by ambulance to Palo Alto County Hospital and was later airlifted to another hospital.
The crash took place shortly before 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Palo Alto County Ambulance Service.
