(Orleans)– A Spirit Lake teen was injured over the weekend after losing control of a motorcycle he was operating.
The Spirit Lake Police Department says 16-year-old Dustin Salm of Spirit Lake was driving a 2008 Kawasaki at the intersection of 140th Street and 240th Avenue in Orleans when he lost control while attempting to make a left-hand turn. Officers say the motorcycle then fell over and skidded into a brick wall.
Salm was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. There was no immediate word on the nature of his injuries or condition.
Four thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the motorcycle.
The collision took place around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
