(Spirit Lake)– Minor injuries were reported in a four-vehicle chain reaction accident Saturday on old Highway 276 or County Road M-49 at the intersection with 100th Street on the Iowa/Minnesota border.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says the mishap involved vehicles driven by 21-year-old Alyssa Stephenson of Otho, Iowa; 47-year-old Mark Schuman of Windom, Minnesota; 26-year-old Moneree Crow of Sacred Heart, Minnesota and 32-year-old Tracy Rohloff-Johnson of Jackson. Two people were taken by private vehicle to Lakes Regional Healthcare with what was described as minor injuries.
Authorities say all four vehicles were northbound when Stephenson, who was driving the lead vehicle, hit the brakes…causing the other vehicles to collide in a chain reaction.
Three thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1995 Dodge driven by Stephenson; a 1995 Ford pickup driven by Schuman sustained an estimated five thousand dollars in damage; no damage was reported to a 1990 Mercury driven by Crow; and a thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a Ford pickup driven by Rohloff-Johnson.
The mishap took place around 2:20 p.m. Saturday.
