(Spirit Lake)– Minor damage was reported in an electrical fire late Monday afternoon at a residence in the East Okoboji Beach area.
Spirit Lake Fire Chief Wally Jorgenson says firefighters were called to 25734 Frank Street shortly before 5:00 p.m. Jorgenson says it appears some water had been sprayed onto the side of the house near the electric meter socket, which shorted out. The resulting fire damaged siding on the house in that area. There was also a small amount of smoke reported in the house. Jorgenson says they were able to quickly extinguish the fire and damage was minimal.
Firefighters were on the scene about a half-hour. No injuries were reported.
