(Spirit Lake)– A Milford man has been charged for allegedly transmitting the virus that causes AIDS.
31-year-old Dewayne Boyd of Milford is accused of having intimate contact three times between August 1st of this year and Wednesday (August 10th) with a female knowing he had the HIV virus and not telling the alleged victim.
In addition, authorities say a search of Boyd turned up a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Boyd was charged with criminal transmission of the HIV virus…a class “B” felony and possession of methamphetamine…a serious misdemeanor.
The investigation was initiated by the Spirit Lake Police Department.
Authorities say they’re looking for other possible victims.
Boyd is innocent until proven guilty.
