(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a Milford man accused of obtaining drugs by passing a forged prescription slip at a Spirit Lake pharmacy.
Spirit Lake police say they were called to the Hy-Vee pharmacy last Wednesday regarding a male that had tried to pass a forged prescription slip. He was denied the prescription and left the store when police arrived.
On Sunday police were called to the pharmacy at Lewis Family Drug in Spirit Lake on a report that the same male was trying to pass forged prescription slips.
The man, identified as 30-year-old Donnie New of Milford, was booked into the Dickinson county jail on four counts of prohibited acts of obtaining prescription drugs using a forged prescription order. All four counts are class “D” felonies.
Police say the prescription slips had been stolen from Spencer Family Care in Spencer.
