Milford Groups Request Money From County

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Two Milford groups asked the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors for money Tuesday.

Don Lamb says about 80-thousand dollars in debt remains on the Milford Community Building. He’s requesting the county chip in 50-thousand…10-thousand dollars a year over five years. Lamb told supervisors it “stuck in his craw” when the county helped fund the Community Building and Expo at the Dickinson County fairgrounds, but turned down Milford’s project.

Supervisor June Goldman says the Community Building and Expo were county projects that just happened to be in Spirit Lake.

The committee raising 450-thousand dollars for a new extrication unit made another pitch for funding. They’ve reduced their original request of 100-thousand to 50-thousand dollars.

No action was taken on either request.
