Milford Couple Injured In SW Mn. Wreck

(Slayton, Mn.)– A Milford couple was injured in a two-vehicle accident over the Memorial Day holiday weekend in southwest Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol says vehicles driven by 86-year-old Loretta Warren of Woodstock, Minnesota and 76-year-old Herbert Birchard of Milford collided at the intersection of Highways 59 and 30 in Slayton shortly after 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

Herbert and two passengers in his vehicle, his wife…69-year-old Linda Birchard of Milford and 47-year-old Julie Hoven of Coralville were all taken to the Slayton Hospital. Herbert Birchard was treated for a hand injury; Linda Birchard was treated for minor injuries and Hoven was treated for a shoulder injury.

No injuries were reported to Warren.

A 1996 Oldsmobile driven by Warren sustained moderate damage; a 1993 Dodge driven by Birchard was totalled.
