Milford Council Opposes County Bridge Project

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– The Milford City Council is again expressing opposition to the county’s plans to replace culverts at the Lower Gar Outlet with a bridge.

The council Monday evening decided to send representatives to the August 20th board of supervisors meeting to vocally express their opposition. The supervisors will be holding a public hearing on the proposed 300-thousand dollar project that day.

Councilman Howard “Bud” Kyle blasted the proposed project…calling it a “stupid expenditure”. Kyle said he’s requested numerous times to see comparisons on flow rates at Trigg’s and Sawmill Bridges and how they compare with Lower Gar Outlet, but he says they’ve never been made available.

Another council member, Mike Anderson, said he wants to make sure Milford won’t get saddled for any future maintenance of a bridge.
