(Milford)– The Milford city council has voted to meet a funding request for a new lakes area fire boat half-way.
The council voted Monday evening to contribute 6,500-dollars toward the purchase of the boat. The city was originally requested to give 13-thousand. The cities of Wahpeton, Arnolds Park, Okoboji and Spirit Lake are being requested to contribute 13-thousand dollars each, and the county 28-thousand.
The Milford city council had recently stopped short of flatly denying the funding altogether, saying the city wouldn’t benefit that much by the boat because it doesn’t have much lakeshore property.
