(Milford)– Saying they want more information from the developer, the Milford City Council Monday voted unanimously to deny a request from Rick DeMuth of D & W Development to rezone property at the corner of seventh street and Okoboji Avenue from residential multi-family to arterial commercial.
DeMuth wasn’t present at the meeting.
The council voted to deny the request, going against a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission which voted last week to recommend the council approve the request.
The council’s vote to deny followed comments from neighbors concerned over what type of building and business might be going into the area.
Council members said they’d be willing to reconsider after they meet with DeMuth to get more detailed plans on what he’s proposing.
