(Milford)– The Milford City Council is thinking about making some changes to a tree trimming ordinance.
The current ordinance gives property owners 30-days notice in which to get the trimming done upon being notified by the city. But City Administrator Brian Reed told council members earlier this week the ordinance is cumbersome. He says the city should be able to trim any vegetation and trees that are on city right-of-way anytime it deems appropriate. Reed says there are cases where low-hanging trees can interfere with utilities and city equipment. In those instances, he says the city can’t wait for 30 days.
The council directed Reed and City Attorney David Stein to draft a proposed amendment to the ordinance.
