Milford Applies For Visioning Grant

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– The city of Milford is applying for a grant that would help pay for planning a beautification project.

The city council voted Monday to apply for funding through Iowa’s Living Roadways Visioning Program…a joint venture with the Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa State University.

City Administrator Brian Reed says it would address ways of dressing up the highway 71 corridor through Milford.

If it’s awarded the grant, Reed says the city would be responsible for putting up a thousand dollars and will need to come up with eight citizens to assist in the planning. Reed says those volunteers would meet with ISU landscape architects and D-O-T officials in coming up with a beautification plan.

Reed says they hope to know in November whether the city has been awarded the grant.
